Anchin adds Jean David Chery as tax partner
Anchin, a New York-based accounting and consulting firm, has hired Jean David Chery as a tax partner in its architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector practice.
Based in the firm’s Uniondale, NY office, Chery brings more than 17 years of professional accounting experience focusing on AEC sector clients. He has expertise in areas including Section 460 construction tax accounting, mergers and acquisitions, and research and development credits.
“Adding Jean David to the team enhances our AEC industry tax knowledge, enabling us to better serve our existing clients and pursue opportunities to grow our overall client base within these sectors,” said Fred Ackerman, partner and co-leader of Anchin’s AEC sector practice.
Chery joins from accounting firm Grassi, where he spent the last 15 years and was a tax partner. Before that, he was a tax consultant with Deloitte.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the City University of New York and is a certified public accountant.
“Jean David’s values and dedication to client success align perfectly with our commitment to provide exceptional quality and service to privately held and family-owned businesses—especially at a time when the accounting industry is experiencing significant consolidation,” said Russell Shinsky, managing partner at Anchin.
Founded in 1923, Anchin provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to privately held companies, investment funds, and high-net-worth individuals and families. The firm has approximately 600 people across offices in New York and Florida.
Anchin is part of the BKR International network of accountancies.
