Alvarez & Marsal hires Amanda Wu as managing director in New York
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a global management consultancy, has hired Amanda Wu as a managing director in its private equity (PE) CFO services practice in New York.
Wu brings more than 20 years of experience helping PE-backed and public companies transform their finance organizations. She has expertise across operating model optimization, shared services and outsourcing, process improvement, digital transformation, and post-transaction integration and finance/accounting stand-up.
Wu has worked with companies in TMT, healthcare and life sciences, diversified industrials, automotive, and retail, among other industries.
Her notable engagements include leading a multi-year finance transformation program for a $1.2-billion global photography and chemical manufacturer and providing and operating model and cost structure assessment and redesign for a $4-billion global finance technology and manufacturing firm.
“At A&M, our value is measured by the impact we deliver for clients – and Amanda brings that same results-driven mindset. Her ability to assess and materially improve finance and accounting functions makes her a tremendous addition to our team,” said Richard Jenkins, leader of A&M PE CFO Services.
Wu previously spent 11 years with FTI Consulting, where she was a senior managing director and co-leader of the finance transformation capability. Before that, Wu spent four years with Protiviti, where she was an associate director in the internal audit and finance advisory group, and four years with EY, where she was a senior manager in the performance improvement group.
Wu began her career at CPA firm Lindquist, von Husen & Joyce, where he spent four years and was a senior accountant.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Quincy University.
“Finance transformation is too often treated as a back-office efficiency exercise, when the real challenge is execution - speed to value, enabling growth, driving cost efficiency, and supporting critical strategic initiatives,” Wu said. “A&M’s hands-on approach, paired with deep capabilities across strategic finance, liquidity, accounting, digital finance, and working capital, is what turns finance transformation into a true competitive advantage.”
