BDO USA appoints new leaders for assurance and tax

BDO USA, a Chicago-headquartered mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has appointed Demetrios Frangiskatos as managing principal of assurance and Mat DeMong as managing principal of tax.

In his new role, Frangiskatos will define strategy and oversee the team and client delivery experience across BDO’s audit, attest, financial accounting advisory, and technology risk offerings.

Based in New York, Frangiskatos has been at BDO since 2000 and most recently led BDOAdvantage, the firm’s assurance digital audit suite. He also previously served as assurance managing partner for the US East and industry leader for technology and media.

Frangiskatos has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. John’s University.

Based in Boston, DeMong will lead a tax practice that delivers services across income tax accounting, corporate tax, state and local tax, international tax, transaction advisory, transfer pricing, and automation and innovation. 

He has been with BDO since 2004 and most recently served as tax managing principal for the US East region. Before that, he was office managing partner for Boston.

DeMong has a master of laws in taxation from Boston University and an MBA, juris doctor, and bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University.
