BerryDunn hires Carson Hanrahan as chief transformation officer
BerryDunn, a Portland, ME-based accounting and consulting firm, has hired Carson Hanrahan as its first chief transformation officer.
Based in the top-50 firm’s Portland headquarters, Hanrahan will lead the firm’s transformation office, which focuses on aligning digital, data, and organizational change with long-term strategic business goals.
As chief transformation officer, Hanrahan will spearhead the firm’s transformation journey, leading technology, strategy, innovation, and change management, as well as the enterprise project management office. He will also join BerryDunn’s executive leadership team.
“As our Chief Transformation Officer, Carson will implement a framework for intentional change, balancing BerryDunn’s entrepreneurial spirit and people-first approach with best practices in change management,” said CEO Sarah Belliveau. “Carson is an accomplished and experienced leader who will help the firm harness technology, data, and responsible AI while building organizational agility and resilience for our next phase of growth.”
Hanrahan brings more than 20 years of experience leading enterprise technology and business transformation for insurance, professional services, retail, and manufacturing firms. He has overseen global teams through shifts to product-centric operating models, cloud modernization, and the launch of new digital platforms and AI-enabled services.
Hanrahan previously spent three years with Marsh Risk, where he was US chief information officer. Before that, he spent eight years with Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he was director and global product owner for global specialty underwriting risk analysis and selection.
Earlier in his career, Hanrahan spent 11 years with engineering firm Woodard & Curran, where he was VP of IT strategy and operations.
“BerryDunn’s people are its greatest asset, and I’m excited to help build a transformation framework that honors that culture and continues to offer our people opportunities for growth," said Hanrahan.
Founded in 1974, BerryDunn has approximately 800 people across eight US offices and one office in Puerto Rico. It is the 43rd-largest CPA firm in the US, according to Inside Public Accounting, with $181.1 million in annual revenue.
