Investor Group Services (IGS), a a Boston-based consultancy focusing on the private equity (PE) industry, yesterday announced the launch of an AI practice and specialized AI team.
The new practice will guide PE firms and their portfolio companies on AI adoption – from diligence and readiness assessments to opportunity identification, change management, and scalable deployment.
The practice will be led by Justin Bass, chief AI officer, who joined IGS in March. Based in Chicago, Bass brings deep expertise in engineering, data science, and AI. He was previously chief technology and AI officer at Quantum Rise; SVP of engineering, data, and analytics at Advantage Solutions; and SVP of data engineering at Zoom Info.
Earlier in his career, he spent six years with Crowe, where he was chief data science officer.
Also joining the leadership team of the AI practice is partner Hachem Alaoui, who joined IGS in September. Alaoui has 15+ years of experience in strategic consulting, transaction advisory, and operational leadership.
He previously spent 13 years with BCG, where he was a partner. He was also previously a director of strategy and operations at B Capital Group.
“We are pleased to see IGS expand its capabilities with the launch of the AI Practice," said Rob Zielinski, managing partner at Interlock Equity, which acquired IGS in 2022. "As AI continues to shape decision-making and operations across industries, this new offering strengthens IGS’s ability to support clients as they evaluate and implement AI initiatives. The new practice is a natural extension of IGS’s recognized advisory capabilities."
