Manatt hires Claudia Douglass as managing director in health practice
Manatt, a Los Angeles-headquartered law and consulting firm, has hired Claudia Douglass as a managing director in its health practice.
Based in Charlotte, Douglass brings more than 30 years of industry and consulting experience in healthcare. In her new role with Manatt Health, she will advise provider organizations on strategy, operations, and clinical optimization – with a focus on digital transformation and AI-enabled care delivery.
“Claudia is a dynamic addition to our growing team, strengthening our ability to support clients across the full continuum of care as they rethink care delivery, scale digital capabilities and navigate increasingly sophisticated operations,” said Bill Bernstein, partner and leader of Manatt Health.
Douglass brings deep expertise in large-scale clinical and operational transformations – including operating model redesign, M&A strategy and integration, and change management – as well as a strong network of C-suite relationships across providers, payers, and digital health innovators.
She previously was a partner and leader of healthcare industry growth at Grant Thornton, principal and global co-leader for hybrid care and digital health at PwC, and managing director and head of strategic risk offerings for the advisory healthcare provider and health plan practice at Deloitte.
Before that, Douglass was VP for strategic services at Carolinas HealthCare System and SVP and COO at Piedmont Medical Center. She began her consulting career at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, where she was a manager in the healthcare business consulting practice.
Douglass has a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan and bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Miami.
“Manatt’s integrated legal and consulting model is uniquely positioned to help organizations reimagine care delivery, and I look forward to working with my colleagues and our clients to accelerate innovation, improve outcomes and build more sustainable, consumer-centered systems,” Douglass said.
Manatt Health’s recent notable hires include senior advisor Christopher Chen, MD, former Washington State Medicaid medical director; and senior advisor Will Gordon, MD, former chief informatics officer at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation.
