Chatham Financial receives strategic investment

Chatham Financial, a Kennett Square, PA-based capital advisory and technology firm, on Thursday announced a strategic investment from Vikram Pandit (the former CEO of Citigroup) and investment firms Atairos and GIC.

Chatham Financial will remain majority owned by its employees, and CEO Matt Henry and chairman Amol Dhargalkar will continue to lead the firm. Pandit will join Chatham Financial’s board as a director.

The investment, which is projected to finalize by Q1 2027, will enable Chatham to invest in its areas of growth and build on its long-term business strategy.

“For more than 35 years, we have helped our clients navigate capital markets with independence and expertise,” said Henry. “This strategic investment allows us to maintain that long-term perspective and commitment to clients as we continue to innovate and deliver powerful capital markets solutions.”

The transaction follows Chatham’s recent acquisition of Hodes Weill & Associates, a New York-based capital advisory firm focusing on real assets.

“Chatham is an exceptional firm with a long track record of providing trusted advice and advanced technology to its clients,” Pandit said. “We are excited to support the Chatham team in their next chapter of growth.”

Chatham was founded in 1991 and helps clients mitigate risks associated with interest rate, currency, debt, commodity, and data exposures. The firm has practices in capital advisory, interest rate risk management, foreign currency risk management, commodity risk management, hedge accounting, valuation, regulatory compliance advisory, debt management, and defeasance and prepayment.

Chatham has 800+ employees across 12 offices in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
