Kearney appoints Martin Denman as chief financial officer

Kearney, a Chicago-headquartered management consulting firm, has appointed Martin Denman as chief financial officer.

Denman succeeds Laurent Guerard, who passed away in February. Guerard was with Kearney for more than 30 years and served as CFO between 2021 and 2026.

“Laurent was an exceptional strategist and a gifted advisor to clients across many sectors, most notably in transportation, travel, and infrastructure,” the firm said in a LinkedIn post at the time of Guerard’s death. “Over more than three decades with Kearney, he served the firm with distinction, most recently as chief financial officer and a member of our global leadership team. His rigor, integrity, and foresight informed and inspired the entire firm.”

Denman has served as acting CFO since Guerard’s passing. He has been with Kearney since 2017, joining the consultancy’s Chicago headquarters as VP for global finance.

Denman has more than two decades of experience in finance, audit and assurance, and project management. Before his tenure with Kearney, he spent six years with ZS as global controller, and four years with RSM, where he was a supervisor in the assurance practice. Earlier in his career, Denman spent two years with law firm Kirkland & Ellis, where he was a project assistant.

He has a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Exeter in the UK. Denman is a certified public accountant in the state of Illinois.

“We’re at an important inflection point for this firm,” said Bob Willen, Kearney’s global managing partner and chairman of the board. “We’re investing more strategically in technology and new capabilities to create even greater impact with our clients. Martin’s experience in complex global environments makes him the right partner to help us translate the scale of what we’re building into decisions that endure.”

Kearney is celebrating its centennial this year. The firm provides end-to-end management consulting to clients in a range of industries, with particular depth of expertise in operational consulting and the manufacturing sector. Kearney has more than 5,000 people in 40+ countries.
