Atwell adds land development expert Mark Borushko in Arizona
Engineering and design consultancy Atwell has hired Mark Borushko as a vice president at its Mesa, Arizona office. Borushko will support the firm’s land development operations in the Western region, while also supporting the construction and program management practice nationally.
Southfield, Michigan-based Atwell Group is among the top 200 design firms in the country. The consulting firm offers a full range of civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering services, as well as program management and construction offerings. Atwell also delivers land planning, survey, environmental and regulatory, and GIS/mapping services. It has more than 600 employees across more than 20 US offices.
The company serves three primary markets: power and energy; oil and gas; and real estate and land development. Within the land development market, Atwell helps residential, commercial, and community development projects successfully navigate planning, design, development, and permitting. Services offered include sustainable design, real estate support, landscape architecture, and survey.
The company’s land development operations have been bolstered by the addition of Borushko. He has more than 30 years of industry experience, primarily focused on the planning, engineering, and development of large residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the western US. Borushko boasts deep expertise in strategic planning, operational management, business development, client relationship management, and program management.
In his new role as Borushko will focus on strategic growth, operational efficiency, and client relationship development in the Atwell’s western region. According to the firm, Borushko’s addition will allow it to “expand operations in the western region, enhance the firm’s land development experience, and continue to support clients across the country.”
Previously, Borushko spent 10 years at civil engineering firm David Evans and Associates as vice president and general manager of the 140-person land development business unit, where he was responsible for all aspects of the unit, including operations, service delivery, client relationship management, and profit and loss.
Before that, he was chief operations officer and vice president of development at Wilcox professional services from 2007-09, overseeing the operations of the firm’s land development, transportation, government, and industrials activities in the western US. He was also a founder and managing principal at real estate development consultancy MB Group, which operated for eight years before it was acquired by Wilcox.
