Mercer names Pete Maxwell as digital sales leader

Health, wealth, and career consultancy Mercer has appointed Pete Maxwell as the sales leader of Mercer Digital in the US and Canada. Maxwell previously served as the East market leader of Mercer’s digital practice, and carries more than 18 years of experience in the tech industry.

He has also worked as the director of business development of Workday, a cloud-based financial and human capital management software company headquartered in California. There, he focused on digital solutions. Maxwell holds a bachelor of arts in computer science and a master’s in management information systems, both from Temple University.

In his new role, Maxwell will report to Humphries as he helps Mercer’s clients embed Workday and cloud computing company ServiceNow services into their organizations. He will focus on sales, professional services, business relations, and communications, ensuring that clients are future-proofed for the digital age.

Mercer employs more than 23,000 people based in 44 countries. The firm operates in more than 130 countries. Mercer is fully owned by global professional services firm Marsh & McLennan Companies, which is based in New York City and advises clients on insurance brokerage, risk management, reinsurance services, talent management, investment advisory, and management consulting issues.

Marsh & McLennan has annual revenue of approximately $17 billion. In 2016, Mercer accounted for 33% of Marsh & McLennan’s revenue. Mercer’s clients are offered services and solutions regarding employee healthcare and benefits package management, pension plans, and employee engagement, management, and compensation. The firm’s North American headquarters is located in New York City. Globally, the firm has headquarters in London and Singapore. More than half of Mercer’s employees are based outside North America.
