Buck appoints Lori Block as industry insights leader

HR consultancy Buck has promoted company veteran Lori Block to industry insights leader. Based in the Bay Area, Block has more than 30 years of experience in human resources and benefits consulting.

In her role as industry insights leader, Block will be responsible for sharing knowledge and strategic insights across the firm and with clients, helping them keep ahead of trends in human resources. Block and her industry insights team will curate and conduct relevant research to this end.

She will also be tasked with creating a client advocacy council at Buck, while continuing to serve as an advisor to key clients.

During her career, Block has built up deep expertise in advising clients on HR, benefits, and compensation, with an emphasis on employee total wellbeing. She has overseen the successful implementation of numerous technology-based solutions and communication engagements.

Block, who has been with Buck for nearly 19 years, previously served as an engagement & total wellbeing strategist, providing guidance on traditional and tech-driven communications and engagement solutions. Prior to joining Buck, she spent more than seven years at Aon Consulting, where she was an associate vice president.

"I've always been passionate about exploring new ways to help our clients and their people succeed together," said Block. "What energizes me, and what I'm most excited about in my new role, is supporting our clients as they explore – and embrace – the idea of the new social contract."

According to Buck, the company is helping define the “the new social contract” between employers and employees in order to stay ahead of “shifting expectations.” Based in New York, and with offices across the US, Canada, and UK, the consultancy offers a range of technology solutions – including intuitive HR administration platforms – as well as strategy services.
