Mazars USA names two new partners
Accounting, tax, advisory, and consulting firm Mazars USA has announced the appointment of Olga Blyweiss and Terence Coppinger as partners in the firm’s tax practice. Blyweiss will be based out of the Pennsylvania office, while Coppinger will work out of the Long Island office.
The appointments align with Mazars USA’s continued expansion of its national tax practice. At the firm, Blyweiss will be tasked with focusing on private client services, where she will help business owners and high-net-worth individuals retain their wealth. Coppinger will help grow the firm’s tax practice in the tax financial services group.
"Changes in the tax code have created new complexities for many of our clients," Tifphani White-King, Mazars USA national tax practice leader, said. "As such, we are continuing to grow our tax practice in all of our offices, ensuring that we have the right expertise to help both businesses and individuals flourish."
Blyweiss brings with her more than 20 years of tax and consulting experience. Prior to joining Mazars USA she served as a managing director in KPMG’s tax practice. She has also worked as a senior tax manager for EY. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and administration from Drexel University, and a Master of Studies degree in taxation from Villanova University.
Coppinger, meanwhile, also joins Mazars USA from KPMG, where he was a partner for more than three years. He also worked as a tax managing director for Deloitte, for more than 20 years, as well as a four-year stint with the IRS. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from St. John’s University, where until 2016 he served as an adjunct professor of accounting. Coppinger also earned a doctorate in business administration from Sacred Heart University, as well as a master’s in taxation from Pace University.
Mazars USA was founded in 1921 and is part of the Mazars Group. The firm targets “growth-oriented enterprises and individuals.” The Mazars Group employs 23,000 people in 89 countries, and operates in a wide spectrum of industries, including automotive, aerospace defense, energy and utilities, consumer products, banking, healthcare, and insurance.
