DPS Group names John Marr as VP of technical services operations
Global engineering and project management consultancy DPS Group has announced the appointment of John Marr as vice president of technical services operations (TSO). Marr will be based out of DPS’s offices in Cary, North Carolina, and will service the southeast United States.
In addition to heading the TSO arm in Cary, he will also have duties involving operations, sales, and marketing of DPS’s engineering, manufacturing engineering support, quality and scientific, and commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) services.
"Under John's direction, DPS envisages strong growth in the southeast, building on the strong growth we have enjoyed in northeast and mid-Atlantic regions,” Gerard Morgan, president of DPS's US technical services, said. “John brings extensive leadership experience executing capital projects in the life sciences and related process manufacturing sectors. With his strong growth mindset and leadership skills, we are confident in his ability to take the Cary office to the next level."
Marr has close to 20 years of experience the construction and engineering industries. Prior to joining DPS, Marr served as director of business development for Jacobs, a technical professional services firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas, which also has offices in the Cary area, among many US locations. He has also worked as the manager of business development for Gilbane Building Company, as well as the director of business development for design and construction firm CRB. Marr holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
"I'm excited and privileged to accept this role and look forward to working with the team as we continue to deliver on our strategic plan,” Marr said. “DPS' growth and future success across our technical services operations is very much contingent on continuing to invest in our staff to support our clients with highly skilled professionals, while remaining client focused in meeting their needs. We will continue to offer a high-quality service, develop client relationships and build 'trust'.”
