Mercer appoints new leadership, principal roles

Health, wealth, and career consultancy Mercer has announced several high-profile appointments for several locations in the US. Don Bobo will be the firm’s new office leader for Southern California; Trudi Sharpsteen will be a partner in the firm’s health and benefits practice, as well as the West market leader of the large and jumbo employer team; and Christina Losier will act as a principal consultant in Mercer’s health practice.

Losier is a former Mercer employee, working as a consultant in the Detrot office from 2003 to 2007, as well as a principal consultant in the employee health and benefits practice, from 2008 to 2013. Prior to rejoining Mercer, she served as vice president of employee benefits at LoVasco, an HR consultancy based in Detroit. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Western Michigan University. For her new position, she will based in the Southfield, Michigan office and report to John Lapinski, the firm’s Detroit office business leader for health.

The majority of Sharpsteen’s experience comes from the large and jumbo employer sector. She most recently worked as area vice president at Blue Shield of California. She has also served as a senior consultant at Willis Towers Watson’s west division leadership team. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Sharpsteen will report to Maura Cawley, Mercer’s large and jumbo employer team leader for the US.

Bobo, meanwhile, most recently served as Mercer’s office leader for the Mountain States, placing him at the head of the firm’s business in four offices spanning seven states. He holds a bachelor’s degree from California Poly at San Luis Obispo, and a master’s degree from Houston Baptist University. Bobo will report to Macaire Pace, Mercer’s West market CEO.
