Drake Star Partners, a London-based investment bank, has added Vitaly Golomb as a partner in its San Francisco office.

A seasoned investment banker and entrepreneur, Golomb brings 20 years of experience as a venture-backed CEO, venture capitalist, and mergers and acquisition (M&A) and financing advisor. He has particular expertise in transportation and mobility, alongside the areas of software/SaaS, internet, artificial intelligence, and advanced materials.

Golomb has advised clients across the globe on financing, joint venturing, and M&A, working with companies such as Rimac Automobili, Fisker, HyperloopTT, Damon, Ujet, QEV Tech, Taiga Motors, and Pronto AI.

At Drake Star, Golomb will focus on expanding the firm’s mobility and new energy practice in the US – which advises clients in connected, autonomous, electric, and shared mobility, as well as sustainable tech and green infrastructure companies.

The firm expects that the increased emphasis on technology – including automation and artificial intelligence – will cause a huge wave of growth financing and M&A transactions as incumbent players in the automotive and energy industries face unprecedented disruption.

Vitaly Golom, Partner, Drake Star Partners
“We are delighted to welcome Vitaly to Drake Star Partners as our firm’s newest Partner,” Gregory Bedrosian, managing partner & CEO of Drake Star Partners, said. “Vitaly will not only accelerate the growth of our global Mobility and New Energies sector coverage, but he will also be instrumental in deepening our firm’s relationships and reach across Silicon Valley and the greater San Francisco Bay Area – the world’s #1 technology market.”

Golomb joins Drake Star from GS Capital, a boutique investment bank he founded in 2018. As managing partner, Golomb advised clients on investment strategy and opportunities, conducted due diligence, and negotiated and executed deals.

Between 2016 and 2018, he was a founding partner of HP Tech Ventures, where he helped launch and expand the division’s strategy, tactics, partnerships, and investments. Before that, Golomb was CEO of e-commerce SaaS startup Keen Systems, digital agency Sputnik Integrated, and graphic arts services firm All Digital Printing & Graphics.

Golomb has a BA in computer and video imaging from Cogswell Polytechnical College and completed the venture capital executive program at the University of California, Berkeley.

“I’m excited to join the Drake Star family to provide the all-important bridge to Silicon Valley and have the opportunity to greatly expand my global reach,” said Golomb. “We are in the midst of a massive transition that is reorienting the $5T transportation sector towards a more sustainable future. Drake Star’s world-class Mobility and New Energy team is passionate about this mission and I’m looking forward to joining forces.”

Founded in 2003, Drake Star provides M&A advisory, corporate finance, and co-investment services to clients in the technology, media, and communications sectors. The firm has a team of more than 95 professionals across nine offices in Europe and the US.
