Two Labs, a Powell, Ohio-based provider of drug commercialization consulting, has been acquired by Envision Pharma Group, a UK-based scientific communications company serving the life sciences sector. Envision is backed by GHO Capital, a London-based private equity firm specializing in healthcare.

Founded in 2003, Two Labs supports pharmaceutical companies with commercialization steps such as licensing, logistics, and product launch. The company has worked with more than 350 pharma companies and supported more than 215 product launches.

Two Labs has seen steady growth during its more than 15 years of consulting, and that growth has continued during the pandemic period – with the firm currently working with half a dozen firms developing Covid-19 therapies.

The consultancy has 178 employees across offices and operations in the US and UK.

Envision’s acquisition of Two Labs will deepen the firm’s presence in the US market and extend its scientific footprint into the product pre-launch area. The combination creates a “launch excellence” offering that joins medical affairs, healthcare communications, and consulting services that chart the path from "clinical to commercial" for new products.

“This exciting combination of Envision and Two Labs creates a compelling and unrivaled proposition in launch excellence partnership globally and in the US,” said David Thompson, CEO of Envision. “We look forward to sharing our joint expertise and leveraging our complementary services across medical affairs and product launch planning to support our clients in their goal of bringing new medicines to market effectively and compliantly, to improve patient outcomes.”

The deal followed increased investment in Envision by backer GHO Capital. As part of the transaction, Denver-based private equity firm Excellere Partners will exit its investment in Two Labs after a four-year partnership.

Howard Miller, CEO of Two Labs, said, “We are delighted to be joining the Envision family and taking Two Labs to the next logical step in its successful journey to date. With Envision’s global footprint and Two Labs’ market-leading US footprint, we have a unique opportunity to enrich our client partnerships with more connected services across the launch continuum.”
