Source Advisors, a Fort Worth, Texas-based tax consultancy specializing in research and development tax credits, has acquired Intrepid Advisors, a boutique firm with the same specialization.

Founded in 1986 and based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Intrepid Advisors provides consulting services relating to federal and state R&D credits. The firm’s team of more than 20 engineers, scientists, and tax accountants work to maximize tax incentives for manufacturing and technology companies. In addition to working directly with companies, the firm also partners with US CPA firms to provide R&D tax credit studies for their clients.

In addition to its Marlborough headquarters, Intrepid has a satellite office in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Source Advisors’ acquisition of Intrepid will bolster its core capability in R&D tax credit consulting.
