Accenture buys cloud consultancy Imaginea
Accenture has acquired Imaginea, a Mountain View, CA-based cloud-native product and platform engineering firm. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2009, Imaginea advises more than 200 global clients on cloud-first transformations. The company’s full-stack engineering team has deep expertise in cloud data and modernization across platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
Imaginea has approximately 1,350 cloud professionals across offices in Silicon Valley, London, and three locations in India.
Accenture’s acquisition of Imaginea is part of the firm’s commitment to invest $3 billion over the next three years into cloud services. The global management and tech consultancy has approximately 70,000 professionals in its Cloud First division, and half a million overall.
“Cloud is an essential foundation of digital transformation. Leveraging cloud native capabilities helps companies transform experiences, harness advances in technologies like AI, robotics, edge computing and 5G, and break the limits on productivity and innovation to create sustainable value,” said Karthik Narain, global lead for Accenture Cloud First.
Kishore Durg, global lead, Accenture Cloud First integrated cloud services, added, “Imaginea is a noteworthy addition to Accenture, with expertise across leading cloud platforms. Imaginea puts us in an even stronger position to accelerate innovation across diverse industries, drive complex change, and create lasting value.”
Aside from making a heavy commitment to cloud acquisitions, Dublin-based Accenture in October launched its largest brand campaign in a decade. The campaign centers on the slogan “Let there be change,” and focuses on embracing change that benefits all stakeholders.
“Imaginea is excited to join Accenture in helping companies reimagine business and rebuild differently for the benefit of all – from their customers to our people to society at large,” said Vijay Pullur, co-founder of Imaginea.
Accenture also recently acquired Silicon Valley firm End-to-End Analytics, a data and analytics consultancy with more than 70 professionals.
