Kristie Deiuliis and Ralph Zarumba join Black & Veatch
Black & Veatch, a Kansas City, KS-based engineering firm, has added Kristie Deiuliis and Ralph Zarumba to its management consulting business. The pair of seasoned consultants will join the strategic advisory practice as managing directors.
Black & Veatch’s management consulting business provides strategy, performance improvement, transaction advisory, business operations, regulatory, and technology solutions to clients in power, water, oil and gas, and telecommunications. It has more than 230 professionals.
Boston-based Kristie Deiuliis brings more than 25 years of experience in the global energy value chain. She has deep expertise across wholesale and retail market design, rate and pricing dynamics, distributed generation, and technology strategy, among other areas.
She spent the last three years running NEDD, an energy-tech startup that was developing an AI platform to translate data into business insights. Before that, she spent 16 years at quality assurance and risk management firm DNV GL, where she was latterly a VP of energy markets.
Earlier in her career, Deiuliis spent more than six years working in the Senate of Pennsylvania, where she was a senior legislative aide focusing on energy policy and economic development. She holds a master’s degree in public policy from Western Virginia University and a bachelor’s degree from Augustana College.
Chicago-based Ralph Zarumba has more than 30 years of experience in energy and utilities, with a focus on regulation. He has worked with clients across North America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific on various strategic initiatives, including innovative electric utility pricing. He has also appeared as an expert witness in approximately 60 proceedings.
Zarumba previously spent four-and-a-half years at Concentric Energy Advisors, where he was a vice president. Before that he spent eight years at Navigant and three-and-a-half years at SAIC, where he was a director. Earlier in his career, Zarumba was a senior analyst at San Diego Gas & Electric Co. and Wisconsin Electric Power Company.
He holds a master’s degree in economics from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Illinois State University.
