David Price joins PA Consulting as partner in energy practice

Seasoned IT executive David Price has joined PA Consulting, a global innovation and transformation consulting firm, as a partner in its energy and utilities practice. He will be based in Houston, Texas.

Price will work with PA’s energy and utilities sector clients to capitalize on new opportunities in distributed energy resources and electrification.

Price has 30 years of experience in IT consulting and utilities, with a recent focus on data-driven work in strategic risk analysis and major investment business case development. He has worked with utilities across North America, Europe, and Asia to enhance corporate value, expand market penetration, and build strong operations.

Price has extensive experience in enterprise data governance, management and analytics, work and asset management, field operations systems, energy market operations, and smart grids.

He joins PA from Black & Veatch, an engineering and consulting firm, where he spent the last five years and latterly served as chief technology officer.

Before that, he spent two years as managing partner of the energy and utilities practice at IT consultancy CSC (now DXC Technology). Prior to CSC, Price co-founded and served as president of Pinnacle ECS, a consultancy specializing in IT solutions for smart grids.

From 1994 to 2007, Price worked at IT consultancy Logica (now CGI), where he latterly served as chief technology officer. Earlier in his career, he was an executive director at UK water utility Severn Trent and an officer in the British Army.

The firm also develops innovative solutions, including iPredict, an AI system for predicting failures in electricity distribution assets.
