Factum Global adds Paul Weintraub and Jeffrey Smith to leadership team
Factum Global, a boutique consultancy focusing on international expansion advisory, has added Paul Weintraub as executive vice president and head of business development and Jeffrey Smith as chief operations officer. Weintraub is based in Orlando, Florida and Smith in based in New York.
Factum Global was founded in 2018 by Francisco Gomez, an expert in international strategy and operations. The Washington, DC- and Bogota, Colombia-based firm helps businesses and associations expand and operate across global markets, including the US, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Factum leverages data-driven processes to help clients make fact-based decisions on strategic expansion projects. The firm offers services across strategy development, market research, training and coaching, and LATAM-focused advisory.
Factum will also sub-contract with local professional services firms to help clients solve challenges in legal representation, tax regulation, government relations, plant operations, and supply chain management, among other areas.
Gomez, a native of Colombia, has more than 15 years of experience in international strategy and operations. Prior to founding Factum, he spent 9 years at the American Chemical Society, where he was latterly the director of global strategy & market development. In the role, he led 50 employees and managed a $12 million operating budget, and helped the professional association establish operations in India and China.
Prior to joining the American Chemical Society, Gomez spent three years at G&G Consultores in Colombia, where he focused on consulting engagements in strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, and human capital management. He holds an MBA from American University and a BBA from Marshall University.
The addition of Weintraub and Smith will grow Factum’s team to six professionals.
Weintraub, Factum’s new leader of business development, has more than 25 years of experience in strategy and implementation of global sales, development, and operations initiatives. He previously spent ten years at Bicsi, an international association serving IT professionals, where he was VP of global development and support. In the role, he worked to expand the association’s international profile and global footprint, with oversight of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa office, as well as contractors and affiliates in Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
Weintraub also previously worked as Panasonic’s sales manager for the US Central and Southeast regions and as Sumitomo Electric Lightwave’s sales manager for the US Southeast, Caribbean, and Mexico. Prior to entering the business arena, Weintraub served in the US Navy.
He holds an MBA from Rollins College and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
Smith bring more than 15 years of experience in communications and marketing to Factum, where he will oversee business operations, marketing, and communications. He most recently served as founder and president of JVS Advisors, a consultancy focusing on strategic communications and executive coaching. Before that, he was director of communications at private equity firm Warburg Pincus, where he advised executives on communications issues and conducted presentation and media coaching. Earlier in his career, Smith was a communications specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC.
He holds an MBA and MA from American University, as well as a BA from Villanova University.
