Large consulting firms on LinkedIn's top US employers list
Several large consulting firms were on LinkedIn’s annual list of the 50 best companies to grow your career in the US.
The ranking’s methodology uses LinkedIn data to uncover how thoroughly companies invest in their talent. The key pillars are: ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, and educational background.
“These 50 companies help employees build a professional foundation that sets them up for success both at the company and beyond,” a release from LinkedIn noted.
LinkedIn’s ranking also outlined the most in-demand jobs and skillsets at these leading employers.
The top three companies in the ranking were Amazon, Alphabet, and JPMorgan Chase & Co.
There were also six large consultancies on the 50-firm list:
7) Deloitte
Fastest-growing skills: certified public accounting (CPA), US SEC filings, US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
In-demand jobs: strategy analyst, financial analyst, solutions consultant.
The global accounting and consulting network is angling to hire more than 40,000 people in the upcoming fiscal year, with an eye toward roles in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and analytics.
10) EY
Fastest-growing skills: US SEC filings, sssurance, CPA.
In-demand jobs: strategy director, business transformation consultant, IT consulting manager.
EY is planning to hire over 15,00 people next year, with a focus on diverse professionals. The Big Four firm spent $450 million on employee training in 2020.
12) Accenture
Fastest-growing skills: user acceptance testing, SQL server integration services (SSIS), test planning.
In-demand jobs: development analyst, cloud analyst, support specialist.
With up to 99% of its employees going remote in the last year, Accenture ramped up its virtual work resources, including tools and support for mental health and parenting during the pandemic.
17) PwC
Fastest-growing skills: forecasting, account reconciliation, corporate finance .
In-demand jobs: regulatory associate, transfer pricing manager, global mobility associate.
PwC has prioritized digital upskilling, with interactive training programs in AI and automation offered to all employees. The firm has 20,000 open jobs in the US currently.
26) KPMG
Fastest-growing skills: financial statements, GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
In-demand jobs: risk management associate, valuation associate, assurance associate.
The Big Four firm launched its Accelerate 2025 program to drive diverse recruitment, and also hosts a career development program for women leaders at the company.
33) Cognizant
Fastest-growing skills: spring framework, product management, outsourcing.
In-demand jobs: technical specialist, engineering manager, sales director.
The IT consultancy offers upskilling programs for non-STEM individuals to build skills in software development, analytics, and emerging technology.
