Mauldin & Jenkins buys Alabama-based CDPA

Mauldin & Jenkins, an Atlanta-headquartered accounting and consulting firm, has acquired CDPA, an Athens, AL-based accounting and consulting firm.

Founded in 1954, CDPA provides audit, accounting, tax, and business consulting services to small businesses and individuals in Northern Alabama. The firm’s consulting services include strategic planning, valuation, forensic accounting, succession planning, and specialized healthcare industry consulting.

CDPA has approximately 30 employees across offices in Athens, Florence, and Huntsville, AL.

Mauldin & Jenkins’ acquisition of CDPA will expand the firm’s presence in Alabama, where the firm previously had a Birmingham location. The merger will bring M&J’s office count to a dozen across the US South. The firm, which ranks as a Top 100 CPA firm according to Accounting Today, has more than 300 employees in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, and Florida.
