Beacon promotes Kristin White and Lauren Bedula to managing director

Beacon Global Strategies, a strategy consultancy focusing on US government policy and national security, has promoted Kristin White and Lauren Bedula to managing director.

Kristin White will serve as managing director and chief operating officer, overseeing business development and strategic growth activities. She brings nearly 20 years of experience advising clients on national security policy. White joined Beacon in 2014 as VP and head of business development and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2019.

Before Beacon, White spent more than seven years at Avascent, a strategy consultancy specializing in the aerospace, defense, and technology industries. Prior to that, she was a senior analyst at DFI Corporate Services.

White holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign service and a master’s degree in security studies from Georgetown University.

Kristin White, Lauren Bedula, Beacon

Lauren Bedula will take on the role of managing director and leader of the national security technology practice. She will advise clients on cybersecurity, innovation, and disruptive technology in the national security landscape.

Bedula joined the firm as a senior associate in 2015, and most recently served as senior vice president. She previously spent three-and-a-half years at non-profit organization Business Executives for National Security, where she was director for emerging threats policy.

Bedula holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary study (communications, law, economics, and government) from American University.

The pair will join Beacon’s leadership team, which includes founders and managing directors Jeremy Bash and Andrew Shapiro.

Bash was previously chief of staff to the director of the CIA (2009-2011) and chief of staff to the secretary of defense (2011-2013). Shapiro previously served as assistant secretary of state for political-military affairs (2009-2013).
