Core BTS buys Aptera Software Inc.
Core BTS, a national IT consulting and managed services firm, has acquired Aptera Software Inc., a Fort Wayne, IN-based software development firm focusing on the Microsoft stack.
Founded in 2003, Aptera helps clients develop mobile and web applications and modernize legacy software. The firm offers services across business alignment, DevOps practice, UI/UX design, architecture, quality assurance, and security and compliance.
Aptera has more than 100 employees and works with clients in a range of industries.
Core BTS’s acquisition of Aptera will strengthen the firm’s capabilities in application development and modernization, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
"We are thrilled to welcome the Aptera team to Core BTS and provide our clients with enhanced application development and modernization services to ensure that all facets of their transformation needs are met," said Paul Lidsky, CEO of Core BTS. "Aptera's software development services are cutting-edge and bringing the company under the Core BTS umbrella will allow us to provide even better traction for our clients' transformation journeys and maximizes the impact of their investment especially in the Microsoft ecosystem."
The deal builds on Core BTS’ growth since its 2018 acquisition by private equity firm Tailwind Capital. The firm has expanded rapidly in the last three years by organic and inorganic means. The firm’s bolt-on acquisitions have focused on strengthening its Microsoft practice.
In March 2019, Core BTS added the Microsoft business unity of SADA Systems, an LA-based IT consulting firm. That was followed by the August 2020 purchase of Blue Chip Consulting, a Cleveland-based Microsoft Gold Partner with more than 150 employees.
Core BTS earlier this year acquired Skyline Technologies, a Microsoft cloud consulting and application development firm.
The consultancy today has more than 850 employees, according to LinkedIn, with over a dozen locations nationwide.
Core BTS provides consulting services across cloud transformation, applications, data analytics, change management, and training, as well as managed IT services.
