SAIC adds former KPMG partner Milford McGuirt as board member

SAIC, a provider of scientific, engineering, and technology consulting to the defense and government sectors, has welcomed Milford McGuirt to its board of directors.

McGuirt will serve on the SAIC board’s audit committee and its nominating and corporate governance committee. His appointment brings the consulting firm’s board to 11 members, nearly two-thirds of which are women or people of color.

McGuirt brings more than 40 years of Big Four public accounting and audit experience. He was at KPMG US between 1990 and his retirement in 2019, serving as a partner in the audit business. Between 2015 and 2019, McGuirt served as area managing partner for the Mid-South region and managing partner of KPMG’s Atlanta office, overseeing growth and market expansion strategy, client services, and recruitment and retention.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Western Michigan University.

SAIC works with clients in the US military and intelligence communities, as well as health services and federal civilian agencies. The firm delivers consulting services in engineering and integration, program management, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and logistics.

The Reston, VA-based firm has approximately 26,000 professionals and $7.1 billion in annual revenue.

SAIC earlier this month closed a $250-million acquisition of Halfaker and Associates LLC, an IT consultancy with more than 400 employees, according to LinkedIn. The Arlington, VA-based firm provides digital services, data analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services.
