Mike Maroone, a leading figure in the US auto retail industry, has been appointed strategic advisor to the board of Motormindz, a specialist automotive consulting firm.

Maroone is a well-recognized entrepreneur, investor, and auto retail leader who has been active in the industry for 45 years.

Maroone is the CEO of Maroone USA, which encompasses five automotive franchises in Colorado and one in Florida. He is lead director of Carvana, the country’s fastest-growing auto retailer, and a director for MDH Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition corporation.

Maroone also has owned and led Maroone Enterprises since 1997, where he invests independently and in partnership in a variety of ventures – including commercial and residential real estate, waste disposal, and aircraft and yacht charters.

Between 1997 and 2015, Maroone served as president, CEO, and director of AutoNation, helping grow the retailer to nearly 300 dealerships and close to $20 billion in annual revenue.

He started his career at Maroone Auto Group, where in partnership with his father Al, he built the group out to nine franchises in six locations with 900 associates. By the time of its acquisition by Republic Industries in 1997, Maroone Auto Group had annual revenue in excess of $700 million.
