YHB acquires Maryland-based Glass Jacobson

Yount, Hyde and Barbour (YHB), a Winchester, VA-based accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Glass Jacobson.

With offices in Rockville and Owing Mills, Maryland, Glass Jacobson has been serving clients in the Baltimore and Capital Region since 1962. The firm’s integrated services span tax preparation and planning, accounting and audit, divorce and litigation support, investment advisory, financial planning, and 401(k) services.

YHB’s acquisition of Glass Jacobson will add six principals and 54 staff members to bring the firm’s total headcount to nearly 300 people. The deal will bolt on two offices to YHB’s current Maryland presence in Baltimore, in addition to the firm’s extensive presence in Virginia, where it has eight offices.YHB will also expand its wealth management expertise through the formation of a joint venture with Glass Jacobson Investment Advisors.

The Glass Jacobson team will continue to work from their current office locations.

YHB was founded in 1947 and provides accounting, audit, tax, wealth management, and risk advisory services to individuals, estates, and trusts, as well as public and private businesses. The firm serves a wide array of industries, including healthcare, education, banking, manufacturing, and retail.
