Rob Ridge promoted to US West wealth leader at Mercer
Mercer, a global asset management and HR consulting firm, has promoted Rob Ridge to leader of the wealth business in the US West market.
Ridge, who has been at Mercer since 2005, succeeds Mustafa Faizani in the role. He will report to Faizani, who was recently named head of the US West market.
Ridge will focus expanding the capabilities of the wealth business in delivering innovative client solutions and profitable growth in a “critical growth market.”
Mercer’s wealth business provides investment and retirement solutions, including recently launched offerings in sustainable and DEI investment. The firm provides tailored solutions for pension plans and trustees, not-for-profits, insurers, and wealth managers and family offices. Mercer had global assets under management of $380 billion as of March 31, 2021.
“Rob is a dynamic leader with extensive consulting and leadership experience, and I am confident in his ability to build on Mercer's strong foundation in key cities across our West market,” said Faizani. “His track record of serving clients and driving business success will enable us to continue expanding Mercer’s position as the employer and consultant of choice.”
Ridge has more than 20 years of experience in retirement consulting and has led engagements across defined benefit, defined contribution, and retiree medical projects and studies. He has deep expertise working with plan sponsors to implement retirement plan choice, analyzing pension issues related to union negotiations, analyzing risks and benefits of sponsoring pension plans, and designing and executing de-risking and risk transfer projects.
He most recently served as wealth office business leader for the Mountain States, where he focused on developing and leading retirement consulting relationships in the region.
Prior to joining Mercer, Ridge was an actuarial analyst at Buck Consultants.
Ridge has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Colorado Denver and is an enrolled actuary, a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a certified employee benefits specialist.
