Stax appoints Jayson Traxler as president
Stax, a Boston-headquartered M&A strategy consulting firm, has promoted Jayson Traxler to president.
The appointment arrives as Rafi Musher, founder and CEO of Stax, transitions to chairman of the board.
Musher founded the company in 1994, growing the company to more than 275 professionals across offices in Boston, Chicago, New York, and Sri Lanka. The firm serves private equity and corporate clients with consulting in commercial due diligence, value creation, and exit planning.
Stax was last year acquired by Blue Point Capital, a Cleveland-based private equity firm focusing on lower middle-market businesses.

Traxler is a strategic finance executive with more than 20 years of professional experience. He joined Stax in 2021 as managing director and chief operating officer. Before that he spent a year at consulting firm K2 Integrity, where he was an SVP in the corporate development practice, and five years at AlixPartners, where he was a director in the investments and strategic finance practice. At AlixPartners. Traxler worked on engagements in corporate development, M&A, investments, strategy, procurement, and long-range planning.
Before that he was a director at consulting firm Devon Value Advisers and an associate in Merrill Lynch’s corporate principal investments practice. Earlier in his career, Traxler was a private equity associate at Blue Point.
He has an MBA from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and mathematics from The College of William & Mary.

Blue Point was founded in 2000 and manages over $1.5 billion in committed capital. The firm invests in industrial, consumer, and business services companies that generate between $25 million and $300 million in annual revenue.
