Accenture names Andrew Levy chief corporate and government affairs officer
Accenture has appointed Andrew Levy as its first chief corporate and government affairs officer.
Based in Chicago, Levy has held several leadership roles in Accenture’s legal department since joining the professional services giant in 2012.
In the newly created role, Levy will lead the 721,000-person company’s geopolitical strategic analysis and its global government relations function, as well as oversee a global network of external strategists and advisors. Reporting to general counsel Joel Unruch, Levy will work closely with members of the Dublin-based firm’s global management committee and board of directors.
“Assessing geopolitical trends and working effectively with governments and thought leaders around the world has never been more important,” said Unruch. “Andrew’s international experience and political and legal background make him perfectly suited for this new and extremely important role.”
Levy most recently served as general counsel for growth markets, based in Hong Kong and Singapore. In the role, he led a team of 1,500 legal professionals in 18 countries. Before that, he was associate general counsel for the APAC region, based in Hong Kong.
Earlier in his tenure at Accenture, Levy was a managing director in the global corporate investigations practice, leading a team responsible for investigating allegations of compliance violations and employee misconduct.
Prior to joining Accenture, Levy spent five years as an attorney at law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and three years as deputy general counsel in the US Department of Homeland Security.
He has a law degree from Boston College.
“Super excited to take this newly created role as Accenture's Chief Corporate & Government Affairs Officer. Grateful to all my friends and colleagues in Hong Kong and Singapore, where I’ve called home for the past many years, and to our entire, amazingly talented Growth Markets team,” Levy said in a LinkedIn post. “No doubt we will stay connected as I turn to focusing on the geopolitical and social issues impacting our people, clients and partners, and leading our government relations teams around the world.”
