CohnReznick has significantly expanded its Florida operations with the acquisition of Daszkal Bolton (DB), a Boca Raton-based accounting and consulting firm.

Founded in 1992, DB provides audit, tax, business advisory, and digital advisory services to SMEs and HNWIs. The firm has approximately 250 employees across offices in Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, and Jupiter, Florida.

DB is the 103rd-largest accounting and consulting firm in the United States, according to IPA, with annual revenue of $43.1 million.

CohnReznick’s acquisition of DB, which closed on March 1, grows its Florida team to approximately 350 people. The New York-headquartered firm had a Miami office prior to the transaction.

“We’ve been invested in Florida for a long time supporting our clients in the public and private sectors. Florida is a critical market for our clients, and we are thrilled to be adding the talented DB team to our firm so we can meet the demands of the market, support our clients’ investment and expansion throughout South Florida with our deep industry expertise and specialized services, and continue to attract and retain world-class talent,” said David Kessler, CEO of CohnReznick.

CohnReznick says it has “robust” growth and hiring plans to expand its Florida-based advisory, assurance, and tax practices.

Tim Devlin, managing partner of DB, will continue to lead his team in collaboration with Mike Micholas, who leads CohnReznick’s Mid-Atlantic region and Miami office.

“Daszkal Bolton just celebrated its 30th anniversary as a firm,” Devlin said. “As we look to build upon our legacy and create the best opportunities for our clients and team members in the future, we are confident CohnReznick’s culture, leadership, and capabilities will accelerate our success.”

The DB deal follows CohnReznick’s October 2022 acquisition of BKM Sowan Horan – which added a Dallas office with more than 80 employees.

CohnReznick is the 15th-largest accounting and consulting firm in the United States, according to IPA, with $838.6 million in annual revenue. The firm has approximately 4,000 people across offices in the US, Cayman Islands, India, and Australia.
