Deltek hires Dinakar Hituvalli as chief technology officer

Deltek, a Herndon, VA-based provider of enterprise software for project-based businesses, has hired Dinakar Hituvalli as SVP and chief technology officer. He is based in San Jose.

As CTO, Hituvalli will oversee Deltek’s engineering and cloud operations teams, and its global enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. He will report directly to president and CEO Mike Corkery.

Hituvalli joins Deltek from Oracle, where he spent the last 25 years. He most recently served as group vice president of product development – leading the global development team for cloud ERP applications, including core financial and project portfolio management products.

Hituvalli oversaw vision, product roadmaps, and industry focus for cloud ERP apps, with a focus on integrating AI and machine learning into the latest generation of products. Earlier in his tenure at Oracle, Hituvalli was a senior director in the applications development practice, running a global development team focusing on project and portfolio management apps.

He has a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Toledo, Ohio and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India.

Deltek provides software, advisory, and maintenance solutions and services to project-based businesses such as accounting, consulting, engineering, and technology firms, as well as government contractors. The firm has offerings covering ERP, project portfolio management, human capital management, business development, manufacturing, and payments, among other areas.

Deltek’s popular products include Maconomy (an ERP solution for project-based businesses), Vantagepoint (an ERP specifically for consultancies), and Cobra and Acumen (project portfolio management solutions).

The Herndon, VA-headquartered company’s software is used by 30,000 organizations globally. Deltek has a team of over 3,000 employees.
