Kin + Carta hires Katie Franzen as VP in financial services practice

Kin + Carta, a global digital transformation consulting firm, has hired Katie Franzen as vice president of business development in its financial services sector practice.

Based in Chicago, Franzen brings 30 years of professional experience with a focus on client management and business development at technology consulting firms. She has extensive experience working with clients in financial services and insurance.

In her new role at Kin + Carta, Franzen will be responsible for building out and growing the firm’s financial services portfolio. She will report to Eric Rosenzweig, managing director of financial services.

Franzen joins Kin + Carta from Accenture, where she spent nearly two years as a managing director and leader of the Microsoft business group and parts of the insurance portfolio. Before that, she spent two years at Google, where she was financial services leader for Google Cloud.

Earlier in her career, Franzen spent over two decades at IBM, where she held roles of increasing seniority in sales and marketing. She latterly served as a client executive at major US insurance firm.

The London-headquartered consultancy also announced the appointment of Peter Herlan as client lead for financial services. Herlan has 20 years of experience in business development at technology-related businesses, with a focus on bank and insurance carrier markets. He most recently was financial services practice leader at Proudfoot Consulting and previously held leadership roles at ADP, LexisNexis, and Aon.
