Petauri launches Petauri Advisors
Petauri, a PE-backed platform for pharmaceutical commercialization services, has launched Petauri Advisors under the leadership of industry veteran Steve O’Malley.
Petauri Advisors is a strategic life sciences consulting group that will focus on pricing, reimbursement, access and value demonstration.
O’Malley, who will serve as president, brings extensive life sciences sector experience. In 2015, he founded MKO Global Partners, a strategic global life sciences firm advising on payer strategy, market access, pricing, and reimbursement. Before that, he launched over 50 products in the market access category for biopharma firms, including Byetta, Incivek, and Xopenex.
“The biopharmaceutical industry continues to launch innovative and groundbreaking technologies, and demonstrating and communicating the value of these therapies is more important than ever," said O'Malley. "We look forward to partnering with clients to launch products with the potential to significantly enhance the lives of patients."
Oak Hill Capital launched Petauri in February 2023 in partnership with industry veteran Dan Renick, who previously served as president of Precision Value & Health, director of corporate pharmacy management at Humana, and corporate account executive at Merck & Co.
"Steve brings strategic vision and a track record of successful executive leadership, and is known for developing highly respected, high-performing professional teams," said Dan Renick, CEO of Petauri. "He will be a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues and a highly valued executive leader as Petauri continues its rapid growth trajectory."
Headquartered in Nashville, the Petauri platform will aim to add companies with expertise in global market access, medical affairs, patient services, and data and analytics. Oak Hill plans to deploy $250 of equity capital toward the initiative.
Petauri in June bolted on The Kinetix Group, a strategic advisory, access marketing, and medical affairs agency with approximately 100 employees.
Oak Hill targets mid-market, North American companies in industrials, services, media and communication, and consumer verticals. The PE firm has in the past 35+ years raised $20 billion in initial capital commitments and co-investments, invested in approximately 100 companies, and completed over 300 add-on acquisitions.
Among those investments is Trinity Consultants, a Dallas-based environmental consultancy.
