Stax, a mergers and acquisitions (M&A) consulting firm, has promoted Roy Lockhart to managing director and leader of the sell-side and exit planning practice.

Based in the firm’s Boston headquarters, Lockhart will focus on supporting management teams, sponsors, and investment banks in formulating investor-friendly narratives to facilitate capital raises and exits, while mitigating buy-side concerns.

Lockhart has been at Stax since 2011, joining the firm as a research associate and being promoted to manager in 2018 and director in 2022. During his tenure at the firm, Lockhart has delivered strategic advice to various clients in private equity, focusing on sell-side engagements, exit planning, and growth strategy for the software and technology industry.

Before joining Stax, Lockhart was a market research associate at Investor Group Services. He has a bachelor’s degree from Bates College.
