Publicis Sapient acquires supply chain consultancy Spinnaker SCA
Publicis Sapient, the digital consulting division of ad agency network Publicis, has acquired Spinnaker SCA, a Boulder, CO-based supply chain consulting firm.
Founded in 2002, Spinnaker SCA provides supply chain strategy, planning, and execution services to clients in consumer and retail, manufacturing, high tech, medical devices, and distribution. The firm has over 100 employees and offices in Boulder and Denver.
Spinnaker SCA’s technology partners include SAP, IBM, BlueYonder, and Kinaxis.
Through the acquisition, Publicis Sapient will form a new digital supply chain practice led by John Sharkey, CEO of Spinnaker SCA. The practice will provide expertise across supply chain design, planning, execution, and process improvement, as well as in advanced analytics, data solutions, and supply chain digital twins.
“We’re excited to welcome Spinnaker SCA to Publicis Sapient. As a supply chain industry leader with a true end-to-end approach to supply chain consulting, Spinnaker SCA will further enable us to offer our clients solutions for how they can optimize their agile supply chains as part of their digital business transformation,” said Nigel Vaz, CEO of Publicis Sapient.
France-based Publicis acquired Boston-based Sapient in 2015 for $3.7 billion, eventually merging it with various divisions, including Razorfish, to form Publicis Sapient in 2019 under the leadership of Vaz. The digital consulting arm has more than 20,000 people across 50+ global offices providing services in strategy, product, experience, engineering, and data & AI.
“For more than 20 years, we’ve been designing and building agile supply chains to meet the demands of a complex world and driving measurable supply chain performance improvements for our clients,” Sharkey said. “We’re excited to drive even more client impact together with Publicis Sapient.”
Publicis Sapient last year acquired Corra, a New York-based agency focusing on ecommerce consulting and managed services.
