Alvarez & Marsal hires Rosco Newsom as managing director in Washington, DC
Alvarez & Marsal, a global management consultancy, has hired Rosco Newsom as a Washington, DC-based managing director in its aerospace, defense, aviation, and space (ADAS) practice.
Newsom brings two decades of industry and consulting experience focusing on operations planning, transaction services, digital solutions, and corporate strategy. He has advised leading ADAS clients such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, and BAE Systems.
Newsom’s notable engagements include advisory work on F-35 Joint Strike Fighter sustainment affordability, DDG 51-class guided missile destroyer cost reduction, and military satellite communications microelectronics manufacturing improvement.

Newsom joins Alvarez & Marsal from EY-Parthenon, where he spent the last three years as a partner in the aerospace and defense practice. Before that, he spent seven years at PwC Strategy&, where he was latterly a director in the aerospace and defense practice.
Newsom was also previously a business development manager in the aerospace group of Eaton, a multinational power management company. He began his career at Northrop Grumman, where he was latterly a project manager for aerospace systems in the integrated systems engineering division.
Newsom has an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Cornell University.
Alvarez & Marsal’s other recent hires in its US ADAS practice include managing directors Mike Oakley and Pablo Wangerman and senior director Joseph Perovich.
