Pearl Meyer acquires leadership consultancy Blake Street Group
Pearl Meyer, a Boston-based executive compensation and leadership consulting firm, has acquired Blake Street Group, a Boston-based boutique leadership consulting firm.
Founded in 2007, Blake Street provides services in human capital due diligence, organizational readiness, and leadership development to private equity (PE) firms and their portfolio companies.
The firm has supported clients ranging from lower-middle market funds to the largest investors in the world with assessing management talent and go-to-market operational readiness.
Blake Street has 19 employees and offices in Boston, Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco.
Pearl Meyer’s acquisition of Blake Street will expand its private equity and portfolio company leadership consulting capabilities. The combined firm will provide aligned leadership and compensation advice to PE investors and management throughout the PE lifecycle, from pre-deal diligence to ownership, exit, and IPO.
“Our core expertise is advising PE firms and management teams to drive value and assess risk from a human capital perspective," said Andy Rourke, managing director of Blake Street. "As we look to further expand and build upon our lifecycle offerings, Pearl Meyer's leadership and compensation consulting teams are an ideal complement for our services."
Pearl Meyer was founded in 1989 and has over 150 professionals across eight US offices. The firm specializes in advising boards and senior management on building, developing, and rewarding high-performance leadership teams.
Pearl Meyer has offerings across executive, director, and employee compensation; leadership excellence, board effectiveness, and CEO and executive succession; and industry and lifecycle services spanning M&A, private equity, healthcare, life sciences, banking, and real estate.
"As our work with private equity firms has grown, we have been impressed by Blake Street Group's unique blend of leadership expertise in this area, which is informed by their prior experience in PE and operating company roles," said Beth Florin, CEO of Pearl Meyer. "Adding BSG's offerings to Pearl Meyer's comprehensive leadership and compensation consulting portfolio further enhances our ability to help clients accelerate growth and reduce human capital risk through their various stages of development."
