Dina Hernandez rejoins Alvarez & Marsal as chief people officer for transactions businesses
Dina Hernandez has rejoined management consultancy Alvarez & Marsal as the first chief people officer of the global transaction advisory group (TAG) and corporate transactions group (CTG). She is based in the firm’s New York headquarters.
In the newly created role, Hernandez will focus on leading talent management and acquisition strategy and optimizing the talent experience for A&M’s transactions businesses during a significant period of growth.
She brings more than 20 years of experience in in-field human resources, with expertise across talent management and acquisition, inclusion and diversity, and centralizing HR functions.
Hernandez previously was chief people officer at utility company Qualus, where she oversaw a doubling of the firm’s headcount. Before that, she was chief human resources officer at ELM Home & Building Solutions, where she created a talent management function and scaled the business significantly over a span of 24 months.
In her previous tenure with A&M, Hernandez spent a decade as global director of human resources, overseeing HR management across all business units.
She has a bachelor’s degree in legal research and advanced professional studies from St. Francis College.
“Dina’s joining will take A&M’s integrated platform competitive advantage to the next level,” said Preston Parker, managing director and CTG’s US practice Leader. “Capitalizing on HR to fuel growth furthers our ability to service corporates from diligence through value creation and realization. Dina will be invaluable to our HR and business strategy integration efforts in support of driving change for clients.”
A&M TAG has over 1,000 professionals in 40 offices globally. The firm’s CTG practice was launched earlier this year via the hiring of numerous M&A professionals from KPMG and the combination of 20+ existing team members at A&M.
“A&M’s expanding capabilities and geographic footprint signals an inflection point demanding a consistent, global talent strategy,” Hernandez said. “The ability to deliver effective talent management is directly linked to the employee experience and A&M’s ability to rapidly allocate talent around the world.”
