Fresenius Medical Care appoints ex-consultant Anna Long
Fresenius Medical Care (FME), a German healthcare company and the world’s largest provider of dialysis services, has hired Anna Long as executive vice president for strategy and corporate development.
Based in Washington, DC, Long has over 15 years of experience in enterprise strategy, operations, and corporate development.
She joins FME from private equity firm The Carlyle Group, where she spent the last two years as an operations advisor working with healthcare CEOs on strategic and operational plans, portfolio analysis, and M&A.
Before that, Long spent seven years at Pharmaceutical Products Development (PPD), a global contract research organization. As SVP for strategy and corporate development at PPD, she led the development of new growth platforms and business unit strategies, as well as M&A and venture investment, sourcing, negotiations, and deal execution.
Long previously was a senior manager at strategy firm Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte) and a manager at Stax, an M&A-focused consulting firm.
She has an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in economics and international business from Vanderbilt University.
“At FME, Anna will be instrumental in driving strategic growth that benefits all stakeholders. She will report directly to me and serve as an important advisor to my Management Board,” said Helen Giza, CEO and chair of Fresenius Medical Care.
Founded in 1996, FME has more than 125,000 employees globally and approximately €19.4 billion in annual revenue.
