BCG re-elects CEO Christoph Schweizer to second term

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) earlier this month re-elected Christoph Schweizer to a second four-year term as chief executive officer.

The strategy firm’s 2,000+ managing directors and partners voted to back Schweizer for a second term, which begins on October 1, 2025.

BCG last year booked 10% revenue growth to reach a record $13.5 billion, up from $12.3 billion in 2023. It was the consultancy’s 21st consecutive year of growth.

BCG has approximately 33,000 employees globally.

“I am honored to continue leading BCG through this dynamic period,” said Schweizer. “We are working with many leading companies to help them scale their use of AI and achieve the financial returns they aspire to. And we support many clients to control what they can control, especially managing their cost base and overall efficiency.”

Prior to assuming the CEO role in 2021, Schweizer led BCG’s Central and Eastern Europe and Middle East operations and its global healthcare practice. He has been at the firm since 1997.

“BCG is well-positioned for continued growth,” said Schweizer. “We will continue to invest ahead of the curve to offer clients leading edge capabilities.”

The firm says AI-related advisory services accounted for approximately 20% of revenue in 2024, and are projected to grow significantly in the years to come. 

BCG earlier this month launched an AI Science Institute to drive AI-based innovation in scientific R&D.

The firm last year opened its Center for Geopolitics, which supports clients with navigating global economic fluctuations and geopolitical challenges.
