BDC Advisors hires Carrie Knowles-Atkinson as principal

BDC Advisors, a Miami-based healthcare strategy consulting firm, has hired Carrie Knowles-Atkinson as a principal in its payer-provider strategy practice.

Based in Miami, Knowles-Atkinson will work with health systems, provider organizations, and health plans to align contracting strategies with service line transformations and enterprise growth.

She brings more than 25 years of healthcare industry and consulting experience, with expertise across provider network strategy, contract negotiation, and payer-provider collaboration. Knowles-Atkinson has experience across all major lines of business, including commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, exchange, and federal programs.

Knowles-Atkinson most recently spent two years with Oliver Wyman, where she was a senior healthcare advisor working with payers on provider network optimization and contracting strategy. Before that, she spent nearly two decades with UnitedHealth Group, where she was national vice president of provider networks and regional vice president of government network programs.

Knowles-Atkinson has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Florida.
