Alvarez & Marsal hires Felicia Lyon and Zack Shah as managing directors
Alvarez & Marsal, a New York-headquartered management consulting firm, has hired Felicia Lyon and Zack Shah as managing directors in its healthcare industry and education/edtech practice, respectively.
Based in A&M’s San Diego office, Lyon has more than 20 years of experience in human capital and workforce management. She specializes in advising healthcare organizations on workflow efficiency, talent attraction and retention, and culture.
Lyon most recently spent four years with KPMG, where she was a principal in the workforce transformation practice. Before that, she spent five years running her independent boutique HR consultancy.
Earlier in her career, Lyon spent a decade with Deloitte, where she was a human capital senior manager.
She has a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Roosevelt University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Georgia.
“Our ability to deliver transformative results that create lasting value keeps us ahead of what’s next. Felicia’s appointment reflects the caliber of talent we attract to drive operational and performance excellence for our clients,” said Martin McGahan, managing director and head of A&M’s healthcare industry group.
Based in Chicago, Shah joins the private equity performance improvement (PEPI) group as co-leader of the education and edtech advisory practice.
He has over 20 years of experience in investment banking, operations, corporate development, and consulting. He has advised on diligence, strategy, and execution for diverse education sector transactions – from PreK-12 to postsecondary and workforce training.
Shah most recently spent six years as a managing director at investment bank Lincoln International, where he founded the edtech and services practice. Before that, he was head of corporate development and M&A at Adtalem Global Education and a managing director at Lazard, where he co-founded the education practice.
Shah has a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Houston.
“Our practice has been experiencing rapid growth and we are thrilled to welcome Zack to our team,” said Vadim Tsysin, co-leader of the education and edtech advisory practice. “His expertise represents a pivotal milestone in the ongoing evolution of our practice, further expanding our capabilities in this dynamic and ever-changing market.”
