Forward Global hires Sven Stumbauer as partner in compliance advisory practice
Forward Global, a Paris-headquartered risk and communications consultancy, has hired Sven Stumbauer as a New York-based partner in its compliance advisory practice.
Stumbauer brings more than 20 years of experience in anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and sanctions compliance.
"Sven’s unparalleled expertise in financial crimes compliance, combined with his deep understanding of emerging technologies and global regulatory landscapes, perfectly aligns with our vision of delivering next generation compliance advisory services," said Brendan Foo, head of risk and investigations.
Stumbauer has advised more than 150 US and international financial institutions – including multinationals, regional entities, and crypto exchanges – and has served as an independent monitor and consultant for numerous enforcement actions globally.
He has worked on regulatory matters with the DOJ, SEC, and FINRA, as well as with regulatory bodies in the UK, Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan.
Stumbauer has particular expertise in developing comprehensive compliance frameworks for cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.

Stumbauer previously built and led the AML and sanctions consulting practices at Grant Thornton US, Norton Rose Fulbright, and AlixPartners. Before that, he was a managing director at Veris Consulting and a director at KPMG.
Earlier in his career, Stumbauer was a compliance examiner at FINRA.
He has an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in international trade from Georgia Southern University.
