HKA bolsters government contracting practice with acquisition of RKI
HKA, a risk and dispute consulting firm, has acquired RKI, a Yorktown Heights, NY-based provider of accounting and compliance services to US government contractors.
Founded in 2010 by Ryan Koenitzer, RKI is a boutique firm with five professionals listed on its website. The firm provides services in US government contract accounting and compliance, internal controls, outsourced internal audit, requests for equitable adjustment, and expert testimony.
Koenitzer – who has 25 years of public accounting experience – will join HKA as a partner.
“We have built longstanding relationships with clients across a wide range of industries, including construction, defense technology, manufacturing, and others that align closely with HKA’s expertise,” said Koenitzer. “Joining HKA allows us to build on the government contract accounting and compliance support RKI is known for, while giving our clients access to the resources and reach of a global firm.”
The acquisition will strengthen HKA’s government contracting practice, which has offerings in compliance, audit, and advisory; investigations; disputes; claims; and expert testimony.
“This acquisition reflects HKA’s continued investment in deep specialist expertise in areas that matter to our clients,” said Steve Culp, who was in June named CEO of HKA. “By bringing RKI into HKA, we are strengthening an important practice in our business and expanding the support available to clients operating in a highly complex US government contracts environment.”
HKA has more than 1,100 people across 40+ offices in 17 countries. The firm supports construction and energy sector clients with advisory services in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness, and litigation.
