DLA adds Andrew Shinn as partner in private equity practice

DLA LLC, a Fairfield, NJ-headquartered internal audit and accounting advisory firm, has hired Andrew Shinn as a partner in its private equity practice.

Based in the firm’s headquarters, Shinn brings more than 25 years of experience in private equity, strategic finance, and operational leadership. He has expertise in sourcing and executing leveraged buyouts and public equity investments, as well as leading operational turnarounds and strategic growth initiatives.

Shinn was previously CFO and COO of Freehold Healthcare, an adult medical daycare platform, and CFO of Ursa Major, an aerospace and defense firm.

Before that, he was a partner at PAG, Asia’s largest private equity firm, where he launched the Korea market. Earlier in his career, Shinn was an executive director at Morgan Stanley and a principal at The Carlyle Group.

He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

DLA’s private equity industry practice delivers transaction support and advisory services to PE firms and their portfolio companies. The practice has offerings across due diligence, valuation, integration, operational improvement, and financial governance.

DLA was founded in 2001 and has more than 370 employees listed on LinkedIn. The firm has offices in New Jersey, New York City, Boston, Chicago, and Dallas.

DLA has practices in accounting advisory and technical accounting, internal audit and risk advisory, IT advisory, and forensic accounting, and litigation support.

The firm earlier this year welcomed Alex Islamov as a managing director and leader of its cybersecurity practice.
