Amplix buys technology procurement specialist OneConnect

Amplix, a Boston-headquartered technology consulting firm, has acquired OneConnect, a St. Petersburg, FL-based technology procurement consultancy.

Founded in 2004, OneConnect helps clients source, negotiate, and manage their vendor relationships. The boutique firm evaluates technology solution options across a broad network of providers and technology areas, and delivers ongoing account support.

The firm’s practice areas cover AI and automation, unified communications, contact center, mobility, security, cloud, network connectivity, and managed services.

OneConnect has more than 30 employees listed on LinkedIn.

Amplix’s acquisition of OneConnect will enhance its technology procurement and lifecycle management capabilities. The OneConnect team, including CEO John Smack, will join Amplix, with operations continuing under the Amplix brand.

Amplix is a portfolio company of Gemspring Capital, which acquired it in December 2022. The OneConnect deal represents the 15th bolt-on acquisition since Gemspring took on majority ownership of Amplix.

Amplix was founded in 2011 and has more than 275 people across the US and Canada. The IT consultancy has practices in customer experience, AI, network and infrastructure, unified communications, cloud solutions, security, business applications, and mobility.
