Synechron, a consulting and technology company for the financial services industry, has been named a ‘Best Place to Work’ by The Business Intelligence Group, a US-headquartered assessment and research firm.

From its bases in New York (headquarter), New Jersey, North Caroline, Tennessee and Virginia, Synechron provides business consulting, digital and technology services to banks, insurance companies, asset & wealth managers and FinTechs in North America. Beyond the US and Canada, where the firm has three offices, Synechron serves clients across all corners of the globe through its network of 22 international offices.

Months after Synechron globally rolled out its ‘Employee 2020’ initiative – an internal HR and culture program that aims at providing employership excellence to its 8,000 strong workforce – the consultancy has attracted major plaudits for its initiative and early achievements to date. “Congratulations to Synechron for building an organization focused on employee satisfaction and performance,” said Maria Jimenez from The Business Intelligence Group, a Philadelphia-based expert in assessments and rankings.

Jimenez: “After analyzing the employee survey data, it was clear that this is a special company to work for, one where executives and management focus on making work more than… just work!” Dozens of research series conducted over the past years have consistently shown that employers that score well in employership enjoy a higher employee engagement and productivity, as their people are more committed to the company’s goals and dedicated to their own job.

Devised from employee feedback, at the heart of Synechron’s ‘Employee 2020’ blueprint are five core that define what it means to be a ‘Synechronite’, explained John Gaunt, the firm’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “Our core value – ambition, empowerment, responsibility, and a limitless drive for excellence – are what sets Synechron and its employees apart from other companies. This recognition validates our commitment to our employees and the recruitment and retention of the best and brightest in the industry that make Synechron a great place to work every day.” 

The revelation comes weeks after, in another ranking, the same research house praised Synechron’s marketing team for the campaign it delivered to support the announcement of the firm’s new Blockchain Accelerators. According to research by Synechron among executives in the financial services arena, Blockchain is well on its way to become a major disruptor of strategies and operating models in the industry. To help clients embrace the phenomenon, the firm’s consultants developed an accelerator program that support the rapid design and development of Blockchain-leveraged solutions.

After Tim Coates, Synechron’s Blockchain lead in the US, received praise from another analyst firm (he received a Markets Choice Awards for his market leading efforts), the team responsible for bringing the offering’s value-added over to media and ultimately clients has too been placed under the spotlights. Together with teams from among others IBM, Hawthorne, Hitachi and Varo, Synechron’s marketing team have been handed a ‘Marketing Excellence Award’ on the back of the media exposure and reach they realised within the financial services industry. 

Meanwhile, Gaunt continued that while Synechron is delighted with the recognition, the consulting firm is by no means planning to rest on its laurels, and will in the coming months press ahead with planned initiatives aimed at further improving the company’s workplace and culture.

Across the Atlantic, Synechron has been named a great company to work for in the Netherlands by Great Place to Work Institute for four consecutive years.
