Ankura names Scott Fowler senior managing director
Business advisory and expert services firm Ankura has announced that Scott Fowler will serve as senior managing director. Fowler is an expert in turnaround and restructuring, and will be based in Houston, Texas. In addition to Fowler, William Brown, and Robert Unell were named managing directors.
"We are pleased to be able to add Scott and his group's significant depth and breadth of expertise to our team," Kevin Lavin, Ankura co-president, said. "Scott is not only a nationally recognized senior real estate expert, but also a professional who is very much aligned with our collective cultural strategy."
Fowler joins Ankura from global consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal, where he worked as a managing director. He has more than 25 years of experience in real estate valuation and advisory services. He also worked as a director at PwC for more than 13 years. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
"I am honored to be joining Ankura's talented team of experts who have upheld an outstanding reputation in the industry,” Fowler said. “The culture and collaborative spirit of the firm has been refreshing and it is extremely exciting to be part of Ankura's growth story.”
Fowler’s appointment comes in the wake of several senior hires. The firm in mid-August cemented its plans to close in on Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) with the appointments of Simon Michaels as chairman of both regional markets, and turnaround and restructuring expert Yoon Song as a senior managing director based in New York, who is tasked with enhancing Ankura’s global network in Asia. In March, meanwhile, Ankura named capital project manager Randall Coxworth as a senior managing director in the Los Angeles office, reinforcing the firm’s construction advisory practice.
Ankura provides integrated corporate performance and risk management services in areas including compliance, investigations, forensics, technology, turnaround and restructuring, and strategic management. Based in Washington, DC, the firm operates out of offices across the US, Asia, Australia, and Europe – where a new London office serves as the firm’s headquarters for the EMEA and APAC regions.
